Not Just A Burger Ad

While you're reading this advertisement, people are dying out there.

Every day, 50 000 people die of poverty; that makes 18 million people every year. Poverty is the number one reason why people are dying. You wouldn't want to have dirt as your dinner, don't make it theirs. To you, RM10 for a dinner is normal; for them, it's a week's dinner. To you, it's the road to McDonald's; for some of them, it's home. Some people are struggling for a bite. Not all bad body figures result from obesity. The world has enough food for everybody, why are people still dying? McDonald's is now partnering with Hati, Poverty Eradication Foundation Malaysia (YBK) to put a STOP to poverty. With every purchase of the Big Mac set meal, a dinner was given to those in need. We think we can do better as a global food chain; we believe you can too. It doesn't take much to be a hero, but it takes many to save one life. If you budget today, it might take somebody's life away tomorrow. Some kids out there are dreaming to be a superhero, make their dream come true. We haven't lost faith in humanity, you shouldn't too!
Head to the nearest McDonald's store now and grab a Big Mac. You can change someone's life today. Start now. For more information, visit hati.my.

  1. There's 2 appeal in this McDonald ads. Even though McDonald did't use any emotional point to attract people attention as well as to buy the product but we all know that this is not just a rational appeal burger ads. McDonald sell Big Mac as a part of a campaign to raise funds for the victims of earthquake in Haiti which can help the needy people and also creating value for customers. In my opinion, maybe McDonald can add more campaign information in the ads and get more people to join it.

For examples, TOMS shoes ads is a good advertisement compare to the McDonald ads. TOMS use some emotional slogan to touch the customer such as 'Shoes for a better tomorrow', 'one for one; one for all', etc.
